Calistiana.com: Saint Thrse of Lisieux Chaplet

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux Chaplet

Saint Thrse of Lisieux Chaplet

This delicate chaplet pairs 6mm carved quartz with lampworked glass and Swarovski crystals. Features a hand engraved rose center and hand engraved Saint Thrse of Lisieux medal.   $214

A beloved saint and Doctor of the Church, Saint Thrse of Lisieux considered herself to be of little account - a little flower. She called her method of spirituality the "Little Way" or the way of spiritual childhood.

"We live in an age of inventions. We need no longer climb laboriously up flights of stairs; in well-to-do houses there are lifts. And I was determined to find a lift to carry me to Jesus, for I was far too small to climb the steep stairs of perfection. So I sought in holy Scripture some idea of what this life I wanted would be, and I read these words: 'Whosoever is a little one, come to me.' It is your arms, Jesus, that are the lift to carry me to heaven. And so there is no need for me to grow up: I must stay little and become less and less."

Saint Thrse gave us a beautiful example of extraordinary love, trust and humility. Moreover, she taught us that ordinary people can be holy.

How to Pray the Chaplet of Thrse of Lisieux

Many persons have received special graces by reciting this chaplet during a period of nine to twenty-four days. Some even speak of a rose granted by St. Therese.

-------------------------------

On the first bead recite this prayer: "St. Therese of the Infant Jesus, Patroness of Missions, Pray for us!"

On each of the twenty four beads, in honor of the Blessed Trinity, in thanksgiving for giving the world the little saint who lived only  twenty-four years, the following is said: "Glory be to the Father, and the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen."

The chaplet is concluded by saying the Prayer to St. Therese:

Prayer to St. Therese

St. Therese, the Little Flower, please pick me a rose from the Heavenly Garden and send it to me with a message of love. Ask God to grant me the favor I thee implore, and tell Him I will love Him each day more and more. Amen.

The St. Therese Prayer above, plus five Our Fathers, five Hail Mary's and five Glory Be to the Father, must be said on five successive days before 11: a.m. On the fifth day, when the fifth set of prayers have been completed, offer one more set of five Our Fathers, five Hail Mary's and five Glory Be to the Father.

St. Therese's life on earth was spent in perfect love and service of Almighty God. So zealously did she dedicate every thought, word and deed to Jesus in the practice of her "Little Way" that the Holy Father has declared her "A Perfect Miniature of Holiness...The Greatest Saint of Modern Times."

May St. Therese, whose life is a perfect pattern for imitation, abundantly fulfill in your personal behalf her divinely inspired promises "I Will spend My Heaven Doing Good Upon Earth...I Will Let Fall From Heaven A Shower Of Roses."

-------------------------------

Prayers of the Chaplet:

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace! the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
