Calistiana.com: Saint Patrick Malachite Chaplet

Saint Patrick Malachite Chaplet

Saint Patrick Malachite Chaplet

Lush 6mm faceted B grade green Malachite forms the basis of  this vibrant "Emerald Isle" themed design. Features a Sterling Silver Celtic knot center and hand engraved Sterling Saint Patrick Medal. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and snakebites.   $60

Saint Patrick is one of the world's most beloved saints. Born in 387 in Roman Britain, Patrick was kidnapped at age 14 and taken as a slave to pagan Ireland to herd and tend sheep. During his six year captivity, he wrote:

"The love of God and his fear grew in me more and more, as did the faith, and my soul was rosed, so that, in a single day, I have said as many as a hundred prayers and in the night, nearly the same." "I prayed in the woods and on the mountain, even before dawn. I felt no hurt from the snow or ice or rain."

Upon returning to his family, Patrick entered the church, becoming a deacon and a bishop. He later returned to Ireland as a missionary. Saint Patrick preached and converted Ireland for 40 years. He used the shamrock as a visual aid to explain the trinity. The shamrock has been associated with Saint Patrick and Ireland since that time. Saint Patrick died on March 17, 461.

How to pray the Chaplet of Saint Patrick

Intention: Through the intercession of St. Patrick, may God
Almighty strengthen one's faith, and grant the
grace of faith for others.

Prayer on the medal: The Apostle's Creed

On each of the twelve green beads, say the following:

"Glory be to the Father,
and the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen."

Conclude the Chaplet with the following prayer:

BREASTPLATE OF ST. PATRICK

Christ as a light,
Illumine and guide me!
Christ as a shield, overshadow and cover me!
Christ be under me! Christ be over me!
Christ be beside me, On the left hand and right!
Christ be before me, behind me, about me;
Christ this day, be within and without me!

Prayers of the Chaplet:

The Apostle's Creed (Profession of Faith)

I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Creator of Heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord,
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into Heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
